Elderflower, Yarrow, Peppermint Tea Blend
This tea, also known as Gypsy Cold Care, is a recipe that I learned from Rosemary Gladstar when I took her herbalism course at The Science & Art of Herbalism. It is great for reducing fevers due to colds and flu.
The ingredients are Elderflowers, Yarrow leaves and flowers, and Peppermint leaves. These are all lovingly and organically grown by me on our homestead in Arizona without herbicides, pesticides, or chemical treatments of any kind on the plant or in the soil. Sometimes I also forage for these herbs in local areas.
After I harvest the herbs, I dry them naturally without using heat to protect the nutrients and benefits of this herb. I make the tea blends in small batches but there might be a few stem pieces that were missed in the mixing process.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE: Use 1 teaspoon of tea for every 1 cup of water. Infuse in hot water for 20 minutes and strain out the herbs before drinking. You can drink up to 4 cups a day.

Expiration Date: The USDA defines spices as a shelf-stable product and, in the case of spices, they never truly expire. What occurs over time is that the flavor and potency of that spice wanes. Whole spices will stay fresh for about four years, while ground spices run between three and four years. For dried herbs, many will last from one to three years, but it varies depending on the type.
