New irrigation system for the gardens

After doing our soil preparation, we needed to re-do the irrigation system in my herbal garden and the raised beds. This herbal garden started out many years ago for a place to grow rose bushes. The original irrigation (as you can see in the first photo) had two places for bubblers for the rose bushes and that’s it.
We tried over the years converting it various ways to accommodate the herbs. First, we connected small tubing to our back porch faucet that had small drip holes and ran them around the plants, but those clogged up from hard water. Then we tried attaching heads to the two existing bubblers and each head fed eight soaker hose lines. We ran those around all the plants but they clogged up almost immediately after spending a lot of money on them. We looked at what other options we had, like the irrigation tape, but ended up going all out and spending the extra money on irrigation tubing, connectors and drippers that are able to handle hard water. The drippers are removable and can be cleaned every year and put back on.

My husband also created a shut off valve and a cold-weather drain that we didn’t have before.
