I recently got back from a trip to Greece with my mom and daughter. It was a three generation experience of a lifetime. One of the main things that I wanted to do while there was to visit an authentic Greek apothecary and purchase Greek Mountain Tea (Sideritis spp.) among other things. That visit did not disappoint!

This plant is called Melilotus officinalis (Synonyms: M. alba, M. arvensis, M. leucantus, M. lutea, and Medicago officinalis). Melilotus is from the Greek word “meli”, meaning honey and “lotos”, meaning a leguminous plant. Common names include sweetclover, white sweetclover, and yellow sweetclover.
